1. Do I have a choice in homecare providers?
YES - Your doctor or hospital discharge planner is required to provide you with a list of all homecare agencies.
2. What is the difference between skilled care and long-term care?
Skilled home care services include professional nursing and therapy for adults and children who are recovering from a serious illness or injury, or who are disabled or chronically ill. It may also include assistance from a home health aide with activities like bathing and dressing.
Long-term care services include providing medical and other services to patients who need constant care in either their own home, in an assisted living facility or in a nursing home environment.

4. How much care can I obtain for my loved one?
There is no easy answer to this often asked question. There are many factors that are taken into consideration, such as type of care required, government regulations, and funding source to name a few. You should contact PHN at one of the numbers above for an individual assessment.
